With our new t-shirt design "BELIEVE" we wanted to reach out to one of our good friends and just get a take on what the word "BELIEVE" means to him...

BELIEVE in Jesus Christ

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever BELIEVES in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." (John‬ ‭3:16-17‬)

What does it mean to believe in Jesus?

     - To BELIEVE means to hear and accept the words Of Jesus Christ

When you BELIEVE the words of Jesus, you accept the fact that you are in need of a Savior.

Jesus said: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John‬ ‭14:6‬ )

The Bible also says "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans‬ ‭10:9‬)

     - To BELIEVE means to trust the work of Jesus.

Jesus came to do something no one else could do. He came to die for sinful people . He died as the sinless Son of God to pay the penalty of our sins.

     - To believe means you have a new heart, a deep and sincere commitment to following Christ Jesus.

The Bible says in Acts 16:30-31 "Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Repentance is a change of heart, a turning away from your sin, and a commitment to following Jesus.  He becomes the Lord of your life by surrendering to him. 

Once you surrender to him, you start seeing him for who he really is! Precious, Glorious, Mighty Savior, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace. You want to know him, be with him, enjoy him, follow him.

That change of heart, that is what belief is!

That is what salvation is!
